Spring is very good season to watch the wild fry of Masu Salmon at the way going to work or school. Because Nakano River is one of the home river of Masu Salmon at residential area in Sapporo.

At 13min. walk from Metro Station, there is reasonable flow for the fry of Masu Salmon. But there is three-sided revetment area. The fry fish can get small insects at very rare slow flow.
北海道コンサドーレ札幌の練習場の裏からちょっと上流にいくと、稚魚にとって過ごしやすい流れがあります。とはいえ、三面護岸。わずかな緩流帯で、一生懸命ごはんを食べていました。

Nishino River is a tributary of the Nakano River. It is "one step" river.
Last year a young researcher was investigating the spawning status of Masu Salmon. We found their babies at the concrete ditch.
住宅街のどまんなかで、支流の西野川が分かれています。この川、一言で言えば、「ひとまたぎできる清流」です。去年、若手の研究者がこの川のサクラマスの産卵状況を徹底的に調べていました。その努力に敬意を表して、稚魚を探してみると、見つかりました！。コンクリートの溝の中にいました。なぜか、中の川本流よりも大きな稚魚が見つかりました。
