1月上旬の千歳川は冬ザケの産卵期。湧水がからんだ手頃な砂利底は、激戦区の産卵場所です。メスが砂利を跳ね飛ばすと卵も一緒に水中に舞います。砂利の外にでた卵は死にます。卵の時から生存競争は始まっています。
Chitose River in early January is the spawning season for winter salmon. The gravel floor with springs is the nice spawning place for them.When the female dig the gravel, the eggs also flow underwater. Eggs out of the gravel die. The competition for survival has begun since the egg.
